Judeo-Spanish (also known as Ladino) is a language of the descendants of the Jews expelled from the Iberian Peninsula who settled in the coastal territories of the Mediterranean and the Ottoman Empire. Numerous facts have contributed to its formation and evolution, and for this, we will try to present a linguistic, historical and geographical journey through ancient Toledo, modern Salonica, Sarajevo, Istanbul, Tétouan and Israel, and the present-day use of the language.
Dr. Alberto Martinez Wahnon. PhD in Hispanic Linguistics at the Complutense University in Madrid. At the moment living in Munich and working as a Spanish Teacher at the Technical University of Munich and the Cervantes Institute. In the past, also a Spanish Teacher at the UPM in Madrid (2011-2019) and a Lecturer in the University of Gueph, Canada (2007-2010)
